Class IV Laser Therapy Brings Relief of Pain
Solana Beach, CA - Chiropractor Dr. Steven P. Bennett, Acacia Wellness Center, is using a new type of laser therapy with great success to
treat the pain his patients' experience.
Using the Class IV K-Laser Dr. Bennett can help reduce the inflammation and pain associated with many chronic conditions including
osteoarthritis. The laser does not cure problems, but it can, in many cases, significantly reduce the painful effects of a series of physical problems.
"I have incorporated the K-Laser into my practice," explains Dr. Bennett, "because I see a lot of chronic pain (primarily arthritis and
spinal degeneration) that doesn't fully resolve with traditional chiropractic care and/or improved nutrition. I see this as a growing issue as our population ages. I
want to be able to help people reduce the pains that limit their ability to do the things that they enjoy, and that keep them healthy for the long term. We all know how
pain, and especially chronic pain, can rob us of our will to be active."
The benefits of using the FDA-cleared K-Laser are easily catalogued. They include bringing pain relief for arthritis, tendonitis,
bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, shoulder, back and knee pain, fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathies, ligament sprains, edema/ congestion,
venous ulcers, herpes zoster (shingles), myofascial trigger points, and general chronic pain.
Most conditions start to show signs of improvement in just a few visits; some take a little longer. The procedure is fast (10 minutes),
painless and results can be felt immediately. However, it is important to note that the benefits of laser therapy are cumulative and the maximum lasting benefits are
usually only felt after four or more treatment sessions.
"Laser Therapy is proven to bio-stimulate tissue repair and growth," explains Dr. Bennett who has been using the K-Laser in conjunction
with the assortment of the other services his clinic offers including chiropractic care, functional medicine, homeopathy and therapeutic massage.
"Laser therapy, also known as "photobiomodulation," involves the effects of specific wavelengths of light on cells," explains Dr.
Bennett. "The technology combines a synchronized, high-powered, dual wavelength infrared laser in a single beam aimed directly at the origin of the pain."
Technically, the primary action of Laser therapy is on light sensitive molecules (chromophores) in the mitochondria, or powerhouses,
of the cells. When stimulated with the correct wavelength of light, the chromophores actually increase their production rate of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), the
molecular fuel for almost all activities within the cells.
In addition to using the K-Laser, Dr. Bennett specializes in functional medicine - the use of specific lab testing to evaluate how
the basic body systems (hormonal, digestive and metabolic) are working in order to restore them to balance using natural products.

Chiropractic Care in Solana Beach
Many people already know and employ the gentle, natural techniques of Chiropractic care into their personal wellness protocols. Chiropractic care is focused at ensuring proper relationship and function within the bones that encase the central nervous system, that is, within the spine. The modern Chiropractor employs a number of specialized techniques to analyze and address issues within the spinal structures that can lead to sub-optimal health.
It is easy to grasp the concept that “form follows function”. From a Chiropractic viewpoint, optimal form is what we seek. Proper position and motion of joints in particular are the main areas of attention for Chiropractors. In addition, Chiropractic techniques facilitate the efficient and healthy function of the soft tissue and neurological structures surrounding and encased within the articulating bony structures of the spine.
While there will always be health issues that require traditional medical care, such as surgery and synthetic drugs, now more than ever it is critical for humankind to consider the innate strength and healing capacity of the human body, mind and spirit. Chiropractic care offers one very effective means to facilitate this holistic and natural force within all of us.
